This Understanding Standards webpage has been designed to assist teachers and lecturers delivering the Science Practical Skills (J42F 44) unit. The unit introduces learners to science practical skills. Learners will also develop the ability to process and present scientific practical results.
In this outcome learners will set up and take observations from four different scientific apparatus. For a minimum of two of the apparatus types, the observations must involve the taking of numerical readings. Learners will record all results and relevant observations and measurements in a pro forma, laboratory diary or a laboratory report.
In this outcome learners will perform four practical scientific procedures. The procedures must cover at least one practical from each of the areas of biology, chemistry and physics
