The events and webinars are free to join and can contribute to your Continued Professional Development (CPD). CPD certificates will be available on our event booking system shortly after each webinar or event.
We will publish recordings of the webinars on the subject pages of this website for anyone who is unable to attend on the day.

Photography, Higher, 29 November 2023, 4.30 - 5.30pm
This webinar will support attendees in their understanding of the standards for the Higher Photography question paper and project. The webinar will cover the minor amendment made to the wording of question 12 in the question paper, as well as giving general support on approaches to both the question paper and the project.

Sports Coaching and Development, HND, 5 December, 9.30am - 3.30pm, Glasgow
This event will allow those delivering the HND in Sports Coaching and Development to share their experiences and best practice. Attendees will be able to participate in professional discussions.
Computing Science, Advanced Higher, 5 December, 9.30am - 3.30pm, Edinburgh
The focus of this event will be on the Advanced Higher Computing Science project. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with colleagues to develop their understanding of the requirements of the project and the evidence requirements in order to best support their learners. There will also be a session on the assessment object-oriented programming in the question paper.
Physics, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, 6 December 2023, Glasgow
This event is mainly aimed at teachers and lecturers who are delivering Physics coursework for the first time in session 2023-24. It is split into morning and afternoon sessions for each of the different levels. Each session will focus on the coursework component, which is returning in session 2023-24. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss delivering and assessing the coursework during workshop activities.
Please note: When booking onto this event, please book one morning (AM) session and one afternoon (PM) session for two different levels. The afternoon sessions are a repeat of the morning sessions.

The focus of this event will be on the Advanced Higher Computing Science project. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), National 2 - National 4, 8 December 2023, Glasgow
The focus of this event will be on National 2 - National 4 ESOL units, including the National 4 Added Value Unit. There will be discussion of ESOL National 2 and National 3 courses*. Attendees will learn about delivery and assessment of the courses during workshop activities. Furthermore, ESOL National 4 will be examined in depth, with a particular focus on the Added Value Unit coursework component which is returning as a mandatory part of the course for session 2023-24. This event will be beneficial both for experienced teachers/lecturers and those who are delivering the coursework component for the first time. .
*Please note: National 2 ESOL Literacies will not be covered in this event, but there will be an event specifically focusing on this in 2024-25.

The focus of this event will be on the question paper for Higher Psychology. Attendees will have the opportunity to review and discuss candidate evidence with colleagues during workshop activities. Please do not book attendance at both this event and the webinar on 25 January. These sessions will cover similar content, and we want to maximise opportunities for people to attend. Materials from both will be published online following the events.
ESOL (externally assessed components), National 5 and Higher, 16 January 2024, 4.30 - 5.30pm
This webinar will support attendees in their understanding of the standards for the externally assessed components of the National 5 and Higher ESOL courses. The focus will be primarily on the writing component, with opportunity to discuss and practise the application of standards. In addition, an overview of how to approach the reading and listening papers will also be provided.

This webinar will support attendees in their understanding of the standards for Higher Media question paper 2: the role of media. This webinar will give delegates a detailed overview of the assessment standards for this component with reference to candidate scripts. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to engage in professional discussion, ask questions and seek clarification.
