Mark: 4 / 6
Examiner Comments:
The candidate was awarded 4 marks because……
One mark is awarded for the fact that people have died for the right to vote.
A further mark is given for the exemplification of women not being allowed to vote in the past.
The candidate gives extremist parties gaining power as an example why people should vote, this coupled with the example of the BNP, was worth 2 marks.
The final, although frequently used by candidates, goes on to make the point about no right to complain if they do not vote. This is untrue and gained no credit.
Total mark = 4/6.
