Question 1

The candidate was awarded 3 marks because:

  • Rock ‘n’ Roll is the correct answer for part (a)
  • 1980s is not the correct answer for part (b)
  • Electronica and Instrumental Break are the correct answers for parts (c) and (d).

Question 2

The candidate was awarded 3 marks because:

  • Delay and Synthesiser are the correct answers for parts (a) and (b).
  • Dynamic microphone is not the correct answer for part (c) (i).
  • Cardioid is correct for part (c) (ii)
  • “pointed into the body of the instrument” is not specific enough to be awarded 1 mark for part (c) (iii)

Question 3

The candidate was awarded 7 marks because:

  • Synth Pop is the correct answer for part (a).
  • Synthesiser and electronic drum kit are correct answers for part (b)
  • Punk and Minor are the correct answers for part (c)
