Course outline

Administration aims

  • To provide opportunities for progression to further study of Administration
  • To prepare candidates for work in the specific vocational area of Administration

The Higher external exam consists of 2 papers.

Paper 1 is a theory paper of 60 marks of 1 hour and 20 minutes duration. There are 2 sections to Paper 1.

  • Section A is compulsory and presents candidates with a case study. There are a number of questions, totalling 20 marks, which are based on the case study and will give candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their problem solving abilities.
  • Section B requires candidates to choose two from five questions and provide extended responses.

In both sections candidates will be expected to demonstrate higher order skills.

Paper 2 is a practical paper worth 60 marks and of 1 hour and 20 minutes duration.

Candidates will be presented with a business problem which is to be solved using software applications.
